What you’ll do…
As a software engineer, you will be responsible for the full development cycle of a project that will exceed our clients’ expectations. You will have a depth of knowledge and skills in object oriented programming using various Microsoft platforms and open source technologies including C# and ASP.NET. You will own the project, and advocate for the best software solutions in order to deliver that solution to customers. Working in an agile environment, you will make steady progress in helping our customer’s vision become a reality while providing value and satisfaction.
Skills you have…
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in computer science or a related engineering field
- 2-3 years of experience in coding preferred
- Innovative .Net Development
- Ability to collaborate through group design, peer reviews and agile practices

What you’ll do…
As a mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for are to developing solutions from concept to implementation, work closely with other team members in our organization, and maintain a professional manner when understanding our clients’ needs. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will make steady progress in helping our customer’s vision become a reality while providing value and satisfaction.
Skills you have…
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing and/or systems design experience
- Experience working with ovens, spray booths, robotics, air management (fan systems) and pumping systems is preferred
- Structural experience is desired

What you’ll do…
As an industrial engineer, you will analyze systems and develop solutions for new and existing processes both internal and external to the organization that will exceed our clients’ expectations. Finding ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes in an important part of this role. You will own the project, and devise efficient ways to use workers, machine, materials, information, and energy to make a product or provide a service. Working in a dynamic environment, you will make steady progress in helping our customer’s vision become a reality while providing value and satisfaction.
Skills you have…
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering
- Experience with manufacturing systems
- Desire to advocate start-up technologies
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification (or a desire to achieve it)
- Knowledge of statistical process control and lean manufacturing

As a controls engineer, you will design control systems that exceed our clients’ expectations. You will develop electrical schematics, program PLC controllers and machine interfaces, assist in robot integration, and work with integrating our specialized software tools and perform system commissioning. You will own the solution, and advocate for the best control systems to use in order to deliver that solution to customers. What you’ll do…
As a manufacturing engineer, you are responsible for full control panel and system builds that will exceed our clients’ expectations. You will maintain an inventory management process, monitor safety infrastructure, processes, and sales as it relates to the shop. Managing a team, performing and managing maintenance, and overseeing the Novi facility will be an important aspect of the role. KCNG is a cutting edge, innovative operation in Cedar Falls and Waterloo, Iowa. The Automation Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the automation team. They must lead the team to meet goals and foster a culture that prioritizes safety, product quality, and great teamwork.
Responsibilities may include:
- Oversee all maintenance and continuous improvements of facility automation and information systems
- Play an active role in leading the future automation state of the operation
- Work with the management team to prioritize projects, determine collaboration opportunities and leverage best practices
- Responsible for the management and development of automation staff, which includes timely completion of performance appraisals, interviewing and hiring
- Create strategic projects to ensure that the life cycle management of automated systems is appropriate and complete
- Delegate responsibilities and projects to the automation team and ensure team is held responsible for assigned duties and daily tasks
- Plan and organize automation schedules and labor resources
- Assist with estimating budgets and timelines with clients and automation team
- Ensure that all health and safety regulations are met
- Understand and enforce all OSHA and plant safety rules
- Select, order, and purchase automation materials
- Create relevant training materials and oversee automation team training
- Motivate, coach and support employees in a fair and consistent manner
- Ensure emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment are completed in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Great with people
- Strong managerial acumen and the ability to effectively direct others
- Ability to build a high-performing team that can operate productively and efficiently
- Possess very strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in high pressure situations
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or similar
- 3-5 years of automation experience
- 1-3 years of management or supervisory experience
- Previous experience in production/manufacturing is beneficial
